Each game has a time limit of a few seconds and can only be tried five times before failing. SpongeBob SquigglePants consists of over 100 mini-games (or Nanogames) which require using the uDraw GameTablet. These 3D effects can be turned on or off as desired.One of the examples of the Nanogames is "That Takes the Spongecake", where the player tilts the tablet to help SpongeBob blow out all the birthday cake candles. The system produces stereoscopic three-dimensional effects without the use of special glasses. In 2011, Nintendo released another iteration of the handheld, entitled the 3DS. As of June 30, 2010, the combined sales of all the versions of the DS reached 132 million, making it the best-selling handheld console in history. The original DS and DS Lite included a second, larger cartridge slot for Game Boy Advance games, making the systems backwards compatible, but this extra slot was removed on the DSi and DSi XL. Each system includes a stylus to use on the touch screen, a microphone for use in certain games requiring voice recognition, and is the first Nintendo handheld system with stereo speakers.
